Aromatherapy is the use and application of naturally occurring plant oils which have distinct therapeutic properties. These essential oils are used in Holistic Aromatherapy with the aim to boost physical and emotional well-being.
The positive effects of Aromatherapy are numerous and wide-ranging and promote the body’s natural ability to heal, balance and maintain itself.
Potential benefits include relief from muscular aches and pains, sleep problems, headaches, anxiety, depression, menstrual pain, skin conditions and more.
Massage is one of the most popular and enjoyable ways of applying essential oils. An Aromatherapy massage involves a combination of massage strokes to a level each client prefers, allowing you to either feel relax, de-stressed or re-energise.
After a consultation at the start of the session essential oils will be blended to suit the individual’s personal needs and requirements.
Consultation and blending for health and well being
Essential oils can also be used in a variety of other ways, including bath oils, creams, lotions and inhalation.
Following a consultation I will make up an aromatherapy blend for you to use at home and suggest various ways that you can use the oils to address your individual needs.
Targeted massage and Aromatherapy
Head, Neck, Back and Shoulder massage
Relaxing the muscles in the neck, shoulders head and upper back can alleviate tension in these areas and as a result help reduce pain and the possibility of headaches and migraines developing. There is also the potential to improve joint mobility.
A healthy abdomen is essential for the health and wellbeing of the whole body. The colon (large intestine) is one of the body’s major elimination organs. Symptoms of disharmony include bloating, abdominal pain, constipation and diarrhoea.
Specific colon treatments are available, or massage to the abdomen can be incorporated into a full body massage.
If you are suffering from on-going intestinal problems you may find that a course of Tummy massage is beneficial. However if you are suffering acute symptoms then please see your GP in the first instance.
Feet and lower legs
Regular massage including gentle acupressure helps improves circulation, stimulates muscles, reduces tension and often eases pain.
Arm and Hand
Regular targeted hand and arm massage including gentle acupressure can help to reduce pain, improve grip, stimulate circulation and ease symptoms of arthritis and carpal tunnel syndrome.
Massage without Aromatherapy can also be completed, please make contact to discuss further.
Reiki works by directing energy to the recipient by gently placing the hands, non intrusively, in a sequence all over the body (fully clothed). It gives a feeling of relaxation and comfort and restores balance and harmony to the whole person
Reiki’s gentle energy is easily adapted to most medical conditions and may be used safely by people of all ages, including pregnant mothers, new-borns, surgical patients, the frail and the elderly, in any situation.
Being complementary, Reiki works effectively alongside orthodox healthcare and natural remedies, expanding treatment options.
